For centuries, Etna’s winegrowers have used dry-stone walls to terrace the volcano’s steep slopes for use as vineyards.
Constructed by hand, using lava rocks, Etna’s dry-stone walls were added to the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2018.
The existence of dry-stone walls is now threatened because they are considered an obstacle to modern cultivation practices. The support of the international community is essential to preserving this vital part of Etna’s traditional agricultural heritage.

This experience is perfect for a light and enjoyable morning or afternoon on Etna. and includes one guided vineyard tour, wine tasting, and seasonal Sicilian delicacies at one (1) of Mount Etna’s iconic wine estates. Transportation optional, not included. Reservations required.
VISIT TWO ETNA ICONS
This is a half-day experience that includes guided vineyard tours, wine tasting, and seasonal Sicilian delicacies at two (2) of Mount Etna’s wine estates on the east slope of the volcano — Tenuta Russo and Benanti Winery. Transportation optional, not included. Reservations required.
VISIT THREE ETNA ICONS
This full-day experience includes guided vineyard tours, wine tastings, and seasonal Sicilian delicacies at three (3) of Mount Etna’s north slope wineries —iCustodi delle Vigne dell’Etna, Graci, and Cottanera. Transportation optional, not included. Reservations required.
VISITA QUALSIASI ICON ETNA
